Job summary

WebstaurantStore, the world’s largest online restaurant supply company, is seeking a Data Science Intern to join the Data Science team. You will work with experienced Data Scientists on a real-world project, handling large datasets, applying statistical methods, and communicating findings to both technical and business partners.

This is a full‑time summer internship with potential to continue part-time in the fall.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and scripting.
• SQL querying of structured data.
• Familiarity with ML methods and when to apply them.
• Experience communicating results via visualizations and reports.
• Ability to clean and prepare data for analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication with teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Data Scientist to translate business problems into analytical plans.
• Gather, clean, and explore data required for the project.
• Perform exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and data quality issues.
• Apply statistical or ML techniques to address defined problems.
• Evaluate results with appropriate metrics and validation methods.
• Create visualizations to inform technical and business audiences.
• Write clean Python and SQL code and document work.
