Job summary

Mrsool is seeking a Data Engineer II to design and scale the data platform that powers analytics and decision making. You will work with modern data tech like Kafka, Maxwell, Spark, S3, Trino, BigQuery, dbt, and Metabase to build reliable, scalable data systems.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Business teams to deliver trusted datasets and dashboards. You will design robust data pipelines, model data with Medallion Architecture, and focus on performance, observability, and

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing and building scalable data platforms and warehouses.
• Proficient in Spark (Scala, Python) and SQL with production pipelines.
• Experience with Kafka, Maxwell CDC, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Medallion Architecture and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms such as S3, BigQuery, and Trino.
• Proficient in dbt, data quality, observability, and CI/CD practices.
• Ability to collaborate with Product, Analytics, and Business teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and real-time use cases.
• Develop data models following Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
• Create cloud-native data platforms using S3, Spark, Trino, and BigQuery.
• Implement robust ingestion frameworks with Maxwell, Kafka, and event-driven patterns.
• Build data warehouses/marts to support fast reporting and analytics.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Backend Eng, and stakeholders.
• Develop reusable dbt models, tests, and documentation to improve data quality.
• Optimize Spark jobs and queries for performance and cost efficiency.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of critical pipelines with monitoring and SLAs.
• Advance core data platform with automation, CI/CD, and best practices.
• Ensure data quality, lineage, and governance while enabling analytics teams.
