Job summary

The American Diabetes Association is seeking a Data Engineer for remote US-based work to design, build, and maintain scalable data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, application teams, analysts, and architects to ensure secure, high-quality data movement across systems using tools like MuleSoft, Salesforce Data Cloud/Data360, AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, integration development, or related roles leveraging AWS services.
  • Experience designing and supporting enterprise ETL/ELT processes.
  • Experience with cloud-based data ecosystems and enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Experience building and supporting API integrations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT processes and data pipelines.
  • Build and optimize data ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Develop automated workflows to support analytics, reporting, machine learning, and operational data needs.
  • Implement data transformation and orchestration processes using modern engineering practices.
  • Support enterprise data lake, data warehouse, and cloud data platforms.
  • Build and maintain data models that support business intelligence and analytics solutions.
  • Optimize storage, processing, and query performance.
  • Manage data movement between enterprise applications and cloud environments.
  • Implement data quality validation, monitoring, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with data governance teams to establish data standards and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, lineage, and integrations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Work closely with analysts, architects, and developers to support reporting and dashboard initiatives.
  • Assist in troubleshooting data issues and providing root-cause analysis.
  • Support enterprise AI and advanced analytics initiatives through reliable data delivery.
