Job summary

Bollinger Shipyards is seeking a Senior Manager Data Governance & Value Realization to drive enterprise data governance, stewardship, quality, compliance, and value realization initiatives across the organization.

This role partners across IT and business functions to embed governance into operations, analytics, and decision-making while ensuring regulatory compliance and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, information management, or related disciplines.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Proven experience implementing enterprise data governance programs at scale.
• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data, and stewardship practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the enterprise data governance framework, operating model, and governance roadmap.
• Establish policies, standards, and processes for data quality, stewardship, ownership, metadata, and lifecycle management.
• Define and operationalize data ownership and stewardship responsibilities across business domains.
• Lead enterprise data quality initiatives, including monitoring, remediation, and issue management processes.
• Oversee implementation of data cataloging, metadata management, and business glossary capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and cybersecurity requirements including ITAR, NIST, and applicable data protection standards.
• Partner with Architecture, Engineering, Analytics, and AI teams to embed governance standards into enterprise solutions.
• Establish governance metrics and reporting to monitor adoption, compliance, and business value.
• Drive measurable value realization for data initiatives through adoption tracking, ROI analysis, and operational impact measurement.
• Facilitate governance councils, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional alignment.
• Support change management and organizational adoption of governance practices.
• Lead and develop governance and data stewardship resources as the function mature.
