Job summary

Loka, Inc is seeking a Data Engineering Intern to design, build and optimize data pipelines while contributing to ETL, data lakes and warehouses. You will work with English-proficient teams across our remote, globally distributed organization and gain hands-on experience with Python, SQL and data tooling.

You will collaborate with certified specialists and PhDs, building a portfolio and launching real projects that impact clients.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English.
• Basic knowledge of Python and data libraries.
• Basic knowledge of SQL and database engines.
• Experience visualizing and manipulating datasets.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Bonus: AWS, Spark, Airflow, data lakes/warehouses, Git.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing, developing and maintaining data pipelines for clean, timely data.
• Collaborate with the team to implement and optimize ETL pipelines.
• Integrate data from various sources into warehouses, data lakes and lakehouses.
• Support data management tasks, including data cleaning, validation and transformation.
• Develop data models aligned with business goals and metrics to track progress.
• Participate in client communications by gathering requirements and delivering results.
• Explore and visualize data while spotting data quality issues and distribution differences.
• Identify data quality issues and opportunities to improve the codebase.
