Job summary

B Lab is seeking a Junior Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure for the Data & AI team. You’ll onboard new data sources and support data modeling alongside senior teammates, with a focus on reliability and compliance.

You will collaborate with governance and analytics to ensure data availability for analysts and ML engineers, while contributing to platform improvements and tooling innovation.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2+ years of data engineering experience.
• Experience in a DevOps culture prioritizing CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency with Git and code review workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
• Proven ability to design and deploy data solutions and to onboard new data sources.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and optimize end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Onboard new data sources and integrate them into the platform.
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineer and Data Governance Lead on data models and standards.
• Monitor pipelines, diagnose data quality issues, and ensure data availability for analysts and ML engineers.
• Explore new tools and approaches to improve onboarding speed and reliability.
