Job summary

Bixal, a Fairfax, VA-based consultancy, seeks a skilled Data Engineer to design and optimize data pipelines using PySpark, Databricks, AWS, and Kafka-based streaming. You will help ensure platform reliability, scalability, and evolution across the program, working remotely from anywhere in the USA.

The role supports a current contract, with a full-time schedule and a focus on collaboration, best practices, and secure, scalable data infrastructure. Strong team-oriented communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 4+ years of Data Engineering experience.
• Cross-functional collaboration experience.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering at scale.
• Hands-on Databricks experience with notebooks and Delta Lake.
• Experience with AWS services (S3, IAM).
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Familiarity with IaC tooling like Terraform.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex data ingestion pipelines using PySpark and Databricks.
• Mentor engineers and participate in cross-functional discussions.
• Apply CI/CD practices and infrastructure-as-code patterns.
