Job summary

Collectiv is seeking a Data Engineer to design, implement, and support modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric and Databricks, with a focus on lakehouse architectures, analytics engineering, and semantic modeling. This client-facing role translates business requirements into scalable technical solutions while collaborating with client stakeholders and Collectiv consultants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• 4+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform consulting.
• Hands-on with Microsoft Fabric and/or Databricks in production environments.
• Strong SQL skills including performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience designing analytics data models (star schemas, semantic models, lakehouse patterns).
• Experience working in cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).
• Ability to work independently in a client-facing consulting role.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement modern data platforms using Fabric and Databricks.
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines.
• Develop scalable lakehouse architectures for analytics, reporting, and data products.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and data models.
• Develop semantic models and enable self-service analytics with dashboards.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and usability across the analytics platform.
• Apply CI/CD concepts and version control to data engineering workflows.
• Work with client stakeholders to gather requirements and manage expectations.
