Job summary

A leading IT solutions provider seeks a Freelance Data Center Technician to manage on-demand support for global data centers. In this role, you will be responsible for hardware installation, troubleshooting, and managing network operations. Candidates should have at least 3 years of experience in data center operations and a strong knowledge of Cisco and Juniper devices. The position offers flexible hours and the ability to work independently while collaborating with remote teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, preferably in freelance projects.
• Ability to travel to various data center locations on short notice.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain servers and networking equipment.
• Monitor and troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Document installations and system performance for transparency.
• Implement and maintain security protocols in line with industry standards.
• Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to improve operations.

Skills

Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper networking devices

Strong proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows and Linux-based systems

Solid understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLANs)

Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V

Education

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
