Job summary

The Center for Violence Prevention Research is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Data Analyst and Dashboard Developer to translate research into practice. You will build and maintain R Shiny dashboards, prepare and validate datasets, and perform descriptive and inferential analyses for dissemination to practitioners and policymakers.

The role emphasizes reproducible data workflows, data security, and collaboration with researchers. Remote work is supported with stipends and equipment provided.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, epidemiology, public health, social work, data science, or related field, or equivalent applied experience.
• Proficiency in data management and statistical analysis using R (required).
• Demonstrated experience building dashboards in R Shiny (required).
• Demonstrated experience cleaning, managing, and preparing datasets for analysis.
• Experience conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analyses.
• Familiarity with reproducible research practices, including code documentation and version control.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Build interactive dashboards in R Shiny to support research findings.
• Maintain, update, and extend dashboards as data sources evolve.
• Translate requests from researchers and program staff into dashboard specifications and metrics.
• Ensure data security and proper access controls for sensitive data.
• Prepare publication-quality tables and figures for reports and manuscripts.
• Document dashboard structure, data sources, and procedures.
