Job summary

SAIC seeks a Cybersecurity Operations Supervisor to lead a 24/7/365 Detection & Response team in a high‑tempo ESOC environment. You will supervise, mentor analysts, and drive security investigations across SIEM/EDR tools, while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure rapid, effective responses.

The role emphasizes hands-on operations, daily leadership, and continuous process improvement, with potential for remote work anywhere in the US and a focus on production-grade security operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years in cybersecurity operations; 4+ years may substitute for degree.
• Must be a US Citizen.
• Hands-on cybersecurity operations experience (5+ years).
• Two of the listed certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CySA+, GSEC, GCIH, CEH).
• Within 8 months, obtain one of CISSP, CASP, CISM, GSLC, or GSOM.
• Demonstrated leadership in a cybersecurity operations setting, coordinating workloads and guiding analysts.
• Experience assessing incident severity and coordinating responses with stakeholders.
• Experience with SIEM, EDR, cloud security platforms, and network analysis tools.
• Strong communication and remote-leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily D&R operations, monitoring, triage, investigation and escalation per procedures.
• Independently investigate alerts/incidents using SIEM/EDR and other tools; analyze activity and support responses.
• Provide guidance and support to analysts; assist with complex investigations and escalations.
• Manage personnel: performance reviews, coaching, development, attendance and accountability.
• Oversee workloads, prioritization, assignments and staffing for 24/7/365 operations.
• Ensure quality, timeliness and documentation of investigations and escalation activities.
• Monitor performance metrics; identify gaps and drive corrective improvements.
• Lead onboarding, training and development of analysts; share knowledge cross-team.
• Identify opportunities to improve SOC SOPs, playbooks, and workflows.
