Naukri Mitra is seeking a Remote Cybersecurity Operations Manager to oversee SOC operations, triage alerts, and lead incident response. You will coordinate with forensics and manage identity and access protocols across a distributed team.
The role requires 6+ years in cybersecurity with leadership; a Bachelor's in CS or Cybersecurity is essential, with a Master’s or security certifications considered a bonus. Fully remote, global applicants welcomed.
Remote Cybersecurity Operations Manager A financial firm we worked with once had suspicious logins attempt to access several accounts almost simultaneously. SOC flagged it fast. Somebody still had to decide what it actually was — turned out to be credential stuffing, not a false alarm — and how hard to come down on it. That call got made right, access got locked, and by evening the whole thing was contained. That's roughly the job. Not the dramatic version. The regular Tuesday version.
SOC operations, mostly. You're reviewing alerts, deciding what's real and what's noise, and when something's real, you're the one working with forensics to piece together what happened before leading the team through containment. There's an architecture side too — identity and access management, zero-trust questions, making sure something like NIST or ISO 27001 actually gets followed instead of sitting in a policy doc nobody's opened since it was written.
A distributed team adds its own mess, honestly. Someone in Europe catches weird outbound traffic, someone in Asia's checking logs, you're coordinating from wherever you happen to be. Playbooks and decent automation are basically the only thing keeping that from turning into five people talking past each other.
Not required, but they help: a master's degree, actual zero-trust implementation work, having run a fully remote team before, or something like CISSP, CISM, GIAC on your resume.
Naukri Mitra tends to have many postings in this space that lean heavily on urgency language and say almost nothing about scope.
This one's trying not to do that.
You're not babysitting a dashboard. You're the person deciding what happens next when something real breaks.
$128,000 a year.
Fully remote, shape your own day.
Cloud security monitoring, intrusion detection, SIEM pulling everything into one place instead of five dashboards you're bouncing between. Automation handles the low-priority stuff, so nobody's manually triaging every single alert all day. The stack shifts — staying current matters more than mastering any one tool forever.
Fewer successful attacks, obviously. But also response time — a team that actually knows the playbook moves faster than one figuring it out live. Whether leadership leaves a risk conversation actually clearer, not more confused. And a team that trusts the person leading it tends to hold up better under pressure. Harder to measure, but it's real, and it counts.
Bigger teams, usually. Or shaping policy on data protection and compliance. Some go deep into zero-trust specifically. A few end up in executive roles advising leadership directly on security decisions.
We care more about how you think when things are actively going wrong than about a list of certifications, though certifications still help. Open to applicants worldwide, including the United States and India. Bachelor Degree required in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum 6 years of cybersecurity experience including team leadership, with working knowledge of SIEM and endpoint protection tools and the ability to remain level-headed during active incidents.
