Job summary

Harmonic is seeking a Cybersecurity Governance Analyst & Enablement Intern to join the Information Security team. This remote U.S.-based internship runs full-time for 3 months with the option to extend by an additional 3 months, laying the groundwork for ISO 27001 certification and providing hands-on exposure to enterprise security governance practices.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, IT, or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic security or risk-management concepts (coursework or project experience is acceptable).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for documentation and evidence tracking.
• Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team.
• Good communication skills, comfortable in presenting to groups of stakeholders and following up on requests.
• Comfortable using Microsoft 365 suite, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Responsibilities

• Supports the foundation-building work for an eventual ISO 27001 certification.
• Performs risk assessments.
• Documents risk treatments and associated follow-up actions.
• Generates governance-related dashboards for executive team leaders.
• Assists with security policy formulation and document management.
• Gathers security control evidence and associated records.
• Supports management and setup of the governance SaaS platform.
• Performs various other duties as required.
