Job summary

Volt is hiring a remote Critical Access Medical Billing Specialist. The role focuses on generating revenue through payment arrangements, collecting accounts, and pursuing delinquencies, with emphasis on Medicare reporting and coordination with insurers. The ideal candidate has prior medical billing experience and EMR knowledge, including Meditech Expanse or Epic, and must handle rural clinic and critical access hospital billing.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Medical Biller or similar role.
• Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.
• Must multitask and manage time effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Outstanding problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Meditech Expanse or Epic experience required.
• Experience working directly with insurance companies.
• Rural health clinic billing experience.
• Critical access hospital experience required.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue by making payment arrangements, collecting accounts and monitoring and pursuing delinquent accounts.
• Collect delinquent accounts by establishing payment arrangements with insurance providers, monitoring payments and following up with insurance companies when payment lapses occur.
• Maintain Medicare bad-debt cost report.
• Secure outstanding balance payments for care of employees.
