Job summary

Berkshire Medical Center's BH Emergency Department seeks a Psychiatric ED Clinician specializing in comprehensive behavioral health assessment, crisis stabilization, and risk assessment. You will work within the Emergency Department as part of the emergency medicine team, using advanced clinical judgment and trauma-informed care to ensure safe, timely, and patient-centered care across the lifespan.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling or psychology is required.
• One year of experience administering emergency psychiatric assessments in BH care or similar setting.
• LICSW or LMHC license in Massachusetts is required within 6 months of hire.
• CRISISINT - Crisis intervention (MOAB) training required within 1 month of hire.
• Proven ability in developing biopsychosocial case formulations and independent decision-making.
• Ability to work from a remote unsupervised location.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments, crisis stabilization, and diagnostic formulation.
• Perform suicide and violence risk assessments and contribute to treatment planning.
• Provide interdisciplinary consultation and coordinate disposition for psychiatric, behavioral, cognitive, and substance-related emergencies.
• Serve as behavioral health consultant to Emergency Medicine physicians, Psychiatry, Nursing, EMS, Security, and families.
• Apply trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices to ensure safe, timely, patient-centered care.
