Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking a Credit Analyst II to partner with Portfolio Managers on underwriting and monitoring credit, performing analytical tasks and drafting documents. The role emphasizes financial modeling, risk assessment, and supporting portfolio reviews with limited oversight.

Qualified candidates will have a business degree, 2+ years of commercial banking experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business (e.g. Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting).
2+ years of Commercial Banking experience.
Sound financial and risk analysis understanding with financial modeling ability.
Extensive knowledge of banking products and services.
Knowledge of corporate business structure and legal documents.
General knowledge of U.S. government and regulation.
Knowledge of local or regional market preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in internal banking applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software.

Responsibilities

Partner with Portfolio Managers in credit and underwriting; perform analytical tasks as needed.
Draft documentation using critical thinking and data analysis.
Enter indicative credit information into banking systems with accuracy.
Prepare risk-rating scorecards and tickler analysis with PMs.
Develop risk models and advise PMs of obstacles affecting client expectations.
Identify monitoring analysis activities required and verify covenants.
