Job summary

Maker's Pride, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer to support continuous improvement of electrical and control systems across our manufacturing network. The role collaborates with Engineering, Maintenance, IT, and Operations to improve equipment intelligence, safety, and efficiency while reducing manual tasks.

This remote position travels up to 50% to sites (Chicagoland focus initially) and requires experience with Allen-Bradley, AutoCAD, HMI/PLC programming, and IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred or work-related experience.
• 5+ years with Allen Bradley controls platforms; RS Logix 500/5000, Panel Builder, Studio 5000.
• Minimum 3 years in project engineering and project management.
• Minimum 3 years in AutoCAD and familiarity with IT infrastructure.
• Food processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement in smart plant and equipment objectives.
• Design control systems with real-time feedback for operators and supervisors.
• Collaborate with OTSupport and maintenance to monitor production processes.
• Develop and review electrical engineering designs for new equipment installations.
• Program PLCs and HMIs; troubleshoot systems and provide training.
• Develop asset registers and expose data for MES data collection.
• Support disaster recovery processes and travel up to 50% as needed.
