Job summary

Primary Talent Partners is seeking a Contracts Specialist, Discovery Sciences for a 6-month contract in Indianapolis, IN. The role focuses on drafting, negotiating, and processing procurement contracts for outsourced discovery science services, with a lead contracting role and templates/playbooks guiding work.

You will manage a high volume of agreements, work with third-party suppliers, and use SAP Ariba and CLM systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 2+ years of contract drafting and negotiation experience in pharma/biotech procurement.
• Working knowledge of commercial and legal provisions (IP, confidentiality, indemnification, liability, and payment terms).
• Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of concurrent agreements with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience using a contract lifecycle management (CLM) system.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including direct negotiation with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize assigned agreements for outsourced discovery science services, including CDAs, work orders and amendments, and software/SaaS agreements.
• Negotiate with third-party suppliers using templates, fallback positions, and playbooks.
• Manage a high volume of concurrent assignments, meeting timelines.
• Identify non-standard terms or risks and raise them with recommended options.
• Use CLM system for intake, drafting, version control, tracking, and record keeping.
• Create purchase requisitions in SAP Ariba for executed agreements.
• Provide regular status updates to contracting lead.
