Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a COBOL Programmer with 8+ years of experience to support the AMS Edit Book Update process. This role is fully remote within the United States and requires the ability to obtain and maintain a USPS Public Trust clearance.

You will code, test, and research existing processes, collaborating with project managers and subject matter experts to meet project timelines and deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline is preferred but not required.
• 8+ years experience with COBOL & DB2.
• Must be able to attain and maintain a USPS Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with subject matter experts to gather course material and define requirements.
• Analyze program requirements and determine strategic solutions; translate technical specs.
• Develops requirement specifications, data mappings, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers.
• Prepare cost estimates and implement best practices for scalability and performance.
• Create Interface Control Documents (ICD) for current and future interfaces.
