Job summary

Udacity is seeking an On-Call Maintenance Specialist for the School of Cloud on a contract basis. This remote role supports maintaining cloud courses across AWS, Azure, and GCP, coordinating with contractors and Udacity teams.

You will analyze course performance, review student feedback, and implement updates across content, exercises, and project starters, ensuring compatibility with latest cloud features and Python environments.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of popular cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Familiar with compute, database, networking, storage, backup, containers, Kubernetes.
• Familiar with CI/CD tools like CircleCI or Github Actions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker).
• Experience with version control systems (Git/GitHub).
• Ability to debug and update Python-based exercises and projects.
• Strong troubleshooting to resolve student-reported issues.
• Excellent written communication for documenting changes.
• Ability to craft instructional artifacts akin to AWS/Azure/GCP docs.
• Strong attention to detail; student-first mindset.
• Architect-level certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze course performance metrics to identify content that needs updates.
• Review student feedback at scale to prioritize improvements.
• Fix bugs by updating or enhancing course materials and instructions.
• Update cloud service instructions to reflect latest AWS/Azure/GCP features.
• Update Python/NodeJS code and dependencies in exercises and projects.
• Enhance course content with latest tools and technologies.
• Update Udacity Workspaces with updated Python packages.
• Ensure compatibility with newer programming environments.
• Test Cloud Labs for proper access and functionality.
• Troubleshoot access and permission issues in federated cloud accounts.
