Job summary

TeamHealth seeks a Clinician Documentation Educator to partner with clinicians in delivering thorough documentation education that supports accurate coding, compliant billing, and high-quality patient care. You will monitor performance, identify improvement opportunities, and provide ongoing training aligned with industry standards and TeamHealth policies.

Ideal candidates bring CPT/ICD-10 proficiency, quality improvement background, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Clinical documentation expertise required, preferably in ED or HM settings.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Background in Quality Improvement/Quality Assurance is beneficial.
• APCP/CPC certifications preferred.
• Strong analytical and statistical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines under stress.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Zoom and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clinicians to provide documentation education enhancing patient care and reducing risk.
• Review clinician documentation to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide clinician-specific feedback aligned with billing/coding requirements and compliance.
• Deliver education through various methods and update materials to current standards.
• Communicate changes to documentation guidelines related to regulations and payer policies.
• Support facility leadership with templates and initiatives ensuring consistency and compliance.
