Job summary

Merck is seeking a Clinical Director (Principal Scientist) to lead planning and execution of clinical research in Oncology, Hematology, spanning from design to publication. You will guide trials, provide medical oversight, and work with cross-functional teams to advance marketed and investigational drugs.

The role requires MD or MD/PhD, with at least 3 years clinical medicine experience and 1 year in drug development or biomedical research.

Qualifications

  • MD or MD./Ph.D. required, oncology/hematology focus preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical medicine experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of industry experience in drug development or biomedical research.
  • Demonstrated record of scientific scholarship and achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Plan clinical trials in line with the clinical development strategy.
  • Provide medical oversight for ongoing or new trials of investigational or marketed drugs.
  • Summarize clinical findings to support safety/efficacy decisions and regulatory writing.
  • Collaborate with internal/external teams on research and development projects.
  • Support business development assessments of external opportunities.
