Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an ACEND-accredited university or college with ACEND-approved coursework.
• Master’s in a related Dietitian field for licensure after 1/1/2024.
• Completion of an ACEND-accredited Coordinated Program in Dietetics or Dietetic Internship (minimum 900 hours; 1200 hours for some programs).
• Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
• Licensed as a Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in North Carolina.
• Some positions may require credentialing for billing (e.g., NPI, Medicare/Medicaid) within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional needs using the Nutrition Care Process for assigned patients.
• Serve as a resource and liaison between medical specialties and ancillary services.
• Support compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, HFAP, and other standards to improve safety and quality.
• Attend medical rounds, conferences, and ongoing education sessions.
• Develop, implement, and monitor nutrition care plans and participate in discharge planning.
• Lead and manage department staff as needed; document care in medical records.
• Precept interns and train clinical dietitians.
