Job summary

a2z Radiology AI in Boston (hybrid) or US/intl remote roles seeks an engineer to own data integration across hospital networks, cloud ingestion, de-identification, tenancy, and result delivery for FDA-cleared abdominal-pelvis CT workflow. You will ensure end-to-end data flow, privacy, and reliable delivery while interfacing with hospital IT and clinical reviewers.

The role emphasizes practical debugging, precise protocol implementation, and ownership of both gateway repositories from day one.

Qualifications

  • Experience building medical imaging data pathways (DICOM/DICOMweb) for hospital to cloud/on-premise workflows.
  • Ability to design fail-safe, fail-closed data handling and privacy controls in regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship end-to-end integration features in healthcare IT stacks.
  • Strong technical writing for hospital IT reviewers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own on-premise DICOM ingest, including C-STORE service with backpressure handling.
  • Develop cloud DICOMweb STOW-RS receiver with bounded memory and exact-once semantics.
  • Manage tenancy and privacy controls at the boundary with customer-held keys.
  • Implement outbound data channels: JSON callbacks, HL7 v2 over MLLP and dictation autotext.
  • Deliver visibility: per-study tracing, CI for gateways, and configuration drift checks.
