Job summary

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for Clinical Data Abstractors for a healthcare technology organization. This fully remote contract role focuses on abstraction and validation across registries with collaboration to improve AI-driven workflows.

The ideal candidate has hands-on clinical data abstraction experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate abstraction decisions clearly. Flexible scheduling and remote work are offered.

Qualifications

• Active certification appropriate to assigned registry (e.g., CPHQ, RHIA, RHIT) is required.
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on clinical data abstraction experience; cardiovascular/registries preferred.
• Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to document abstraction logic clearly.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with multiple EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abstract cases across registries including NSQIP and related registries.
• Review patient charts in EHR systems to identify required data elements.
• Evaluate AI-generated abstraction recommendations for accuracy.
• Document rationale and provide actionable feedback to product teams.
• Participate in meetings with product and commercial teams for SME input.
• Review product workflows and provide clinical abstraction perspective.
• Collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
