Job summary

Affirm is reinventing credit with a remote-first engineering role focused on CIAM backend services that power registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle for B2C and B2B experiences. You will design, build, and operate core services with strong security, reliability, and operational rigor.

You will implement identity standards like OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM, and work across teams to deliver scalable APIs in Python and Kotlin.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in backend software engineering.
• Hands-on with CIAM systems and security fundamentals.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM beyond basics.
• Strong design of scalable APIs and distributed systems.
• Cloud-native development on AWS; Kubernetes experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate CIAM backend services for registration, authentication, and account lifecycle.
• Implement identity standards (OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM) in code with scalable patterns.
• Develop backend APIs in Python and Kotlin for web, mobile, and partner apps.
• Automate CIAM infrastructure via IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitor, debug, and optimize CIAM services for performance and security.
