LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Chuukese interpreter to deliver high-quality remote video-telephone interpreting from home in the United States. You will handle on-demand sessions across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, and more, ensuring clear communication between Chuukese and English speakers.

The role requires fluency in Chuukese and English, strong listening and note-taking skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work from a quiet home office while meeting client

Qualifications

• Fluency in Chuukese and English with cultural awareness.
• Reading/writing in requested languages is highly preferred.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Respond to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Participate in online, video and audio training sessions.
• Deliver interpretation via video and expediently type data on a dedicated device.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to interpretation protocol.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions.
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions.
• Remain calm during sessions in emergency situations such as 911 calls.
• Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours.
• Follow client instructions to ensure expectations are met with LEP clients.
• Understand protocol for Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law industries.
• Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment.
