Job summary

Charles County Government seeks a dynamic Chief of Business Services to develop, implement, and manage BRE and business support programs within the CCEDD. You will lead engagement with local businesses, oversee financing and incentives, and coordinate with partners on expansion and international initiatives.

You will provide strategic leadership, supervise the BRE Manager, and build relationships with business leaders to drive growth, jobs, and investment across the County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; seven years’ progressively responsible economic development experience.
• At least two years in a management role; CEcD preferred but not required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for BRE programs and business services.
• Lead BRE efforts and supervise the BRE Manager to ensure delivery of programs.
• Develop relationships with business leaders to identify growth opportunities.
• Oversee business visitation/outreach and analyze data for trends and risks.
• Coordinate financing, incentives, and workforce resources for existing businesses.
