Job summary

Chemtrade is seeking a Category Manager-Raw Materials to strategically select suppliers and materials to meet production needs across locations. The role requires driving cost, risk, and supply security while partnering with Operations, R&D, Supply Chain and Finance.

The candidate will lead category strategy, manage supplier relationships, and contribute to productivity and sustainability projects within a global procurement team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business or equivalent.
• 8+ years' experience in the chemical industry is preferred.
• Training/experience in six sigma, lean manufacturing or other professional supply chain certification is preferred.
• Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Experience with SAP.
• Must have a valid driver license and ability to travel nationally and internationally (between US and Canada) up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate contracts while ensuring service standards and transparency of spending.
• Define and implement sourcing management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contracting standards, and governance guidelines.
• Monitor global raw material markets for risks, supply constraints, and opportunities.
• Leverage spend analytics to identify improvements and drive cost/productivity outcomes.
• Lead supplier performance management and continuous improvement programs.
• Contribute to Corporate Procurement KPIs and cross-functional alignment.
