Job summary

CardioOne is seeking an experienced Prior-Authorization Specialist to join our telework-ready Revenue Cycle Management team. You will obtain and verify authorizations for procedures and tests, ensuring compliance with insurer policies and healthcare regulations, while collaborating with providers, patients, and payers.

You will report to the Associate Director of Revenue Cycle Management and help optimize the authorization process, maintain accurate documentation, and mentor colleagues as

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in healthcare administration or business administration is preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in a similar healthcare role is required.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures and billing practices is essential.
• Cardiology experience is preferred.
• Athena experience is required.
• Compliance with OSHA, HIPAA and related regulations is expected.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate insurance authorizations for services.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to procedures.
• Coordinate pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals.
• Provide documentation and information to payers as needed.
• Collaborate with clinicians and staff to resolve authorization issues.
• Maintain accurate records and respond to inquiries promptly.
• Adhere to departmental policies when authorizations are not obtained in time.
• Mentor teammates on authorization processes.
