Job summary

NMS is seeking a Remote Building Maintenance Technician to service Nome Public Schools District facilities in Nome, AK. The role follows a 3-week on/3-week off rotation in Nome; housing is provided by Nome Public Schools, meals not included.

A valid driver’s license is required for eligibility. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems, plus documentation of work and collaboration with maintenance staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years in building maintenance, electrical, HVAC or plumbing trades.
• Basic skills in Word and Excel; ability to use a Maintenance Work Order System.
• Driver’s license and clean driving record for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facilities including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler, and building systems.
• Maintain and document maintenance actions; monitor system irregularities across shifts.
• Perform plumbing tasks (snaking, fittings, toilets, sinks, water heaters).
• Replace electrical fixtures; troubleshoot appliances; install/repair cabinets and doors.
