Job Description
We are seeking Adjunct Faculty to join our team. Living OUTSIDE of California is required. Ability to obtain a current California RN License is required; other RN licenses may be requested. The adjunct faculty will facilitate online courses for the pre-licensure Workforce Development Programs and/or BSN and MSN programs in CA, NM, AZ, NV.
- Instruct students using existing curriculum for assigned classes.
- Continuously improve instruction quality with innovative methodologies and techniques.
- Review and revise syllabi and instructional guidelines.
- Evaluate students regularly, inform them of their progress in a timely manner.
- Assist with strategic planning and assessment of instructional initiatives to ensure program quality.
- Maintain student records of attendance, grades, and assist with data collection.
- Use the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver and update course content.
- Provide ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours and electronic methods.
- Participate in professional development, maintain CE hours, and stay current with college updates.
- Commit to teaching and working with a multicultural, multigenerational student body.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for university and accreditation reporting.
- Participate on curriculum and evaluation committees.
- Conduct weekly recorded synchronous sessions via Zoom, MS Teams, WebEx, etc., for courses with unit/final exams.
- Hold a minimum of four office hours weekly.
- Review and analyze exams for all assessments within the course.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean, Workforce Development.
Pay: $1200 per credit hour.
Qualifications
- Current and unencumbered RN licensure in all states where programs are established; California RN license is required.
- Eligible for approval by CA BRN as an instructor in Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics.
- Master's Degree in Nursing required; DNP, EdD, or PhD preferred.
- Meet faculty requirements set by California's Board of Registered Nursing.
- Demonstrate current nursing practice knowledge, mentoring ability, and effective communication skills.
- At least 1 year of online pre-licensure nursing teaching experience utilizing an LMS.
- Educational background in teaching methodologies, current clinical practice, and distance education techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
