Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking a Business Information Security Officer (BISO) to join our team remotely in Georgia, Texas, Illinois, and DC. The BISO serves as the primary liaison between security and divisional leaders, aligning business operations with information and physical security strategies.

Reporting to the CSO, the BISO shapes security roadmaps, guides policy, and coordinates risk management across divisions.

Qualifications

• CISSP or CISM certifications preferred; BA/BS in business, security, or technology.
• 8-10+ years in information security with a focus on business-aligned service delivery.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Working knowledge of ISO27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials and other security standards.
• Deep experience with security architecture and the tooling to instantiate.
• Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance is a plus.
• Experience running a SOC and handling cyber incidents.
• Experience leading security teams across mid-to-large organizations (55+ people).

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of information and physical security programs.
• Shape security roadmaps for Brown & Brown and divisional technology.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for information and physical security; guide strategy.
• Advise divisional leaders on security-related risk and investment priorities.
• Allocate security resources to meet divisional needs.
• Support merger and acquisition activities, including due diligence and 90-day integration.
• Monitor security trends and assess impact on divisions.
• Educate stakeholders to strengthen security culture.
• Track risk remediation and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
