Job summary

The Billing Specialist role is a remote position supporting revenue cycle processes. You will input accurate patient and charge data, follow up on outstanding claims, and ensure timely billing.

Must reside in MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX, with strong phone and email communication for patient and staff inquiries. Candidates should have 3+ years in billing, proficiency in CPT/ICD-10, and knowledge of HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 3 years of related billing experience.
• Proficient in Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and resolves payer denials including appeals coding corrections and medical necessity rules.
• Analyzes and resolves billing issues keeping AR to no more than 10 over 60 days.
• Processes daily correspondence, claim status, handle denials, appeals and resubmissions.
• Answers billing questions and inquiries from patients and internal staff.
• Updates patient files with address changes and contact information as needed.
• Reviews policy changes and informs supervisor and charge entry staff.
