• Strong proficiency in Adobe InDesign for complex layouts.
• Experience with XML workflows and digital publishing formats (ePub, PDF).
• Attention to typography, layout, and quality control for long-form content.
• Collaborative work across editorial, design, and production teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex Bible and reference book layouts using InDesign and XML workflows.
• Apply proprietary typefaces and formatting rules to ensure readability and brand consistency.
• Manage pagination, cross-references, footnotes, and special elements like maps and charts.
• Prepare files for prepress and digital formats (ePub, PDF) meeting accessibility standards.
• Maintain organization, version control, and production documentation.
• Collaborate with editors, designers, and production teams to meet deadlines.
• Identify workflow improvements and XML tagging efficiencies.
• Travel 2-4 times per year, typically overnight.
