Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is seeking a Bankruptcy Team Lead to oversee residential mortgage loan protections in bankruptcy cases, ensuring timelines and compliance. This role focuses on reducing losses while preserving lien-holder interests and guiding a team through complex BK workflows.

The position requires extensive bankruptcy experience, leadership skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functionally with project management and IT.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Five plus years’ experience in a bankruptcy role in the banking, finance or mortgage industry.
• One year or more in senior or lead bankruptcy role or project management.
• Intermediate math skills for Motions for Relief and Proof of Claim calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provides training, creates and updates Policy & Procedures, and reviews control reports to ensure quality and performance of the Bankruptcy processes.
• Handles escalated calls from borrowers or attorneys regarding BK inquiries.
• Collaborates with management on projects and coordinates with IT for BK processes.
• Manages litigated and escalated bankruptcy files and offers management recommendations.
• Conducts informal and formal training sessions with staff on bankruptcy processes.
• Identifies process gaps in bankruptcy processes and implements approved improvements.
• Acts as the Trainer within the department for multiple bankruptcy processes.
• May have signing authority to sign bankruptcy documents on behalf of the company.
• Receives and processes bankruptcy documents and prepares required filings.
