Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will supervise the accounting team, drive strategic direction, and partner with engineering, product, and finance to automate reporting.

The role requires deep GAAP knowledge, regulatory reporting experience, and strong leadership skills. Base pay ranges from $164,000 to $245,000 per year, with regional variations.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA designation required.
• 10+ years accounting/finance experience.
• 5+ years people management experience.
• Experience building tools and processes to scale an accounting team.
• Extensive knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting.
• Strong analytical, cash management, and modeling skills.
• Detail oriented with a strategic mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the bank accounting team; provide strategic direction, recruitment, and coaching.
• Liaise with cross-functional partners across the business.
• Oversee monthly financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
• Build and maintain a regulated reporting function for filings (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed).
• Coordinate annual bank financial statement audits with external auditors.
• Drive automation by partnering with engineering/product teams on accounting/reporting tools.
• Manage financial analysis and special projects as needed.
