Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Bank Controller to lead the bank accounting function during a growth phase. You will set strategy, recruit and coach the accounting team, and partner with Finance, Engineering, and Product to deliver accurate monthly reporting and regulatory filings.

You will own the bank's control environment, coordinate with external auditors, and drive automation to enhance efficiency. A CPA/CA with 10+ years in finance and 5+ years of people management is preferred.

Qualifications

  • CPA or CA designation required.
  • Minimum 10 years in Accounting, Finance or Treasury roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of people management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the bank accounting team with strategic direction and coaching.
  • Act as a primary cross-functional liaison with Finance, Engineering, and Product teams.
  • Oversee monthly internal and external financial reporting and regulatory filings.
  • Build and maintain a controlled regulatory reporting function (FFIEC 041, Part 363, Fed reporting).
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual bank financial statement audits.
  • Drive process automation for accounting/reporting through tooling and systems.
