Job summary

Vida is seeking a Backend Software Engineer II to help build the data platform that powers our obesity care products. You will contribute to backend services and data-intensive systems, primarily in Python, translating well-defined problems into production-ready solutions while owning services over time.

You will design APIs, data pipelines, and identity and billing related components, ensuring reliability and observability in a cloud environment, with a focus on robust testing and clean,

Qualifications

Strong programming fundamentals; mainly Python.
Experience with relational databases and SQL.
Experience building data-intensive backends and pipelines.
Solid understanding of testing, debugging, APIs, and distributed-system failure modes.
Experience deploying/operating software in a cloud environment.

Responsibilities

Build backend services that ingest, validate, reconcile, and serve data from external partners.
Develop systems for member identity, eligibility, billing, and other core domains.
Design APIs, asynchronous workflows, and data pipelines used across Vida.
Improve reliability, observability, testing, and performance of production systems.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Operations on ambiguous requirements.
