Matlen Silver is seeking a hands-on Lead Azure Cloud Security Engineer for a remote contract in a highly regulated federal environment. You will focus on cloud security engineering, monitoring, infrastructure hardening, and automated remediation to support FedRAMP High and FISMA High programs.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of cybersecurity experience, deep expertise with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, KQL, and Azure security configurations, and a track record in compliance readiness

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of hands-on cybersecurity experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, KQL and DCRs.
• Hands-on experience with Azure security configurations (VNet, RBAC, Entra ID).
• Experience with FedRAMP/FISMA compliance considerations.

Responsabilités

• Configure and maintain Microsoft Sentinel and Log Analytics Workspaces for cloud security monitoring.
• Develop and optimize KQL queries and Sentinel rules to identify threats and config issues.
• Build automated incident response workflows using Azure Logic Apps and Sentinel Playbooks.
• Configure data connectors and DCRs to centralize security logs.
• Monitor security posture with Defender for Cloud and remediate gaps.
• Implement CIS Benchmarks and STIG configurations across Azure infra.
