Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Senior Azure Data Engineer to modernize an enterprise data platform by migrating from on-prem Oracle/DataStage to a cloud-based Azure lakehouse. You will design, build, and optimize Azure Databricks pipelines, contribute to data-architecture decisions, and help implement data quality and governance across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on data engineering in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Solid SQL and Python or PySpark development skills.
• Experience designing batch ETL/ELT workflows and data-quality checks.
• Knowledge of medallion/lakehouse architecture (Bronze-Silver-Gold).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain data pipelines using Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory.
• Migrate ETL workloads from on-prem Oracle/DataStage to Azure cloud data lake.
• Develop scalable ingestion, transformation, and data-processing solutions.
• Implement medallion architecture across Bronze, Silver, Gold layers.
• Embed data-quality, reconciliation, and validation checks into pipelines.
• Automate validation and testing to improve data reliability.
• Guide technical discussions on data architecture and engineering standards.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and data-quality issues.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and business partners to translate requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Promote reusable development patterns and sound engineering practices.
