Job summary

GovCIO is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect to lead VA Modernization efforts with a focus on VA data and analytics. This fully remote role can be located anywhere within the continental United States.

You will drive enterprise data architecture, patterns for ingestion, storage, and governance, and provide technical leadership across Azure data services and cross-functional teams involved in Data Engineering, DevSecOps, AI/ML, and security.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent professional expertise.
• Experience working with CDW / VISTA / Oracle Health data.
• Expertise in CDW Metadata, data modeling, and CDW query optimization.
• Ability to identify architectural migration patterns and resolve dependencies.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide range of VA stakeholders.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and evolution of Summits enterprise data architecture, defining scalable patterns for data ingestion, integration, storage, transformation, and governance across complex VA environments
• Provide deep technical leadership across Azure cloud and data services, including Azure data factory, azure databricks, azure SQL, and ADLS supporting enterprise-scale data workloads.
• Develop and enforce reference architecture, data models, and architecture decisions.
• Provide technical leadership across Data Engineering, DevSecOps, AI/ML, Cloud provisioning, and security teams.
