Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Remote Automotive Software Architect to shape the software foundation of next‑gen vehicles. Lead architecture for embedded systems, OS, middleware, and applications, aligning with ISO 26262 and cybersecurity.

You will mentor distributed teams, collaborate with hardware and product managers, evaluate technologies, and drive architectural decisions across the SDLC for scalable, secure connected car solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 4 years in an architectural role, preferably in automotive.
• Extensive experience with embedded systems, RTOS, and AUTOSAR middleware.
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns, architectural styles, and modern development methodologies (Agile, DevOps).
• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Java, with scripting languages.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with embedded systems, real-time operating systems (RTOS), and automotive middleware (e.g., AUTOSAR).

• Proficiency in C, C++, and/or Java, with knowledge of scripting languages.
• Familiarity with automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet) and diagnostic standards.
• Experience with cloud platforms and services related to connected vehicles is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of functional safety and cybersecurity principles in automotive software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively remotely.
