Qualifications

• JD or LLM from an accredited law school with excellent academic record
• Active California Bar admission in good standing
• 1–7 years' workers’ compensation defense experience REQUIRED
• Experience representing employers and insurers in WC proceedings
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and craft effective solutions
• Highly organized with strong time management
• Tech-savvy; comfortable in a paperless practice
• Proactive, client-focused; strong cross-team collaboration

Responsibilities

• Represent employers and insurers in workers’ compensation matters
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Attend hearings, depositions, and mediations as required
• Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
• Manage caseloads efficiently while adhering to firm procedures and deadlines
• Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and clients to develop case strategy
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and colleagues
