Job summary

CEB Design Group seeks a Drafts Person with strong aesthetics to translate survey sketches into CAD drawings. You will craft detailed technical drawings and collaborate with architects and engineers to realize design concepts.

Ideal candidates are pursuing architecture careers, have 5+ years of drafting experience, and are ready for our 2-year structured training program covering UK planning and building regulations, with future Revit training included.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in drafting, architecture or a related field.
• Strong drafting skills with proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software.
• Familiarity with UK planning and building regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Technical Drafting: Produce detailed and accurate technical drawings, plans, and schematics using industry-standard drafting software.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other team members to interpret design concepts and translate them into detailed drawings.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior drafting team members.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
• Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers to understand project requirements and timelines.
• Software Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in industry-standard drafting software, including AutoCAD and other relevant tools.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in drafting technology and incorporate new tools as applicable.

We are looking for a Drafts Person with a strong sense of aesthetics and presentation. The ideal candidate should have sufficient work experience to understand survey sketches and translate them into CAD. We require someone with a passion for learning, attention to detail, and self-initiative. Analytical thinking and design skills are essential.

Please note: We are specifically seeking candidates who have aspirations to become architects or, preferably, are already studying to pursue a career in architecture.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Previous working experience as a Drafts Person for 5+ years
• Outstanding drawing skills
• Hands-on experience with design computer programs such as Auto-Cad (2D & 3D) expertise is must, Sketchup & MS-Office etc.
• Great attention to detail
• Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
• Good time-management skills
• Great interpersonal and communication skills
• Have excellent CAD skills. REVIT Certified Professional qualification is desirable.

Education

• Diploma or degree in drafting, Architecture, or a related field.

Experience

5+ years of professional drafting experience using AutoCAD, preferably in architectural or engineering projects.
