Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Applied Physics Specialist (AI Training) with a PhD-level background to stress-test AI models against university- and research-level physics, ensuring compliance with fundamental laws.

This fully remote hourly contract invites independent researchers to design advanced problems, author golden solutions, audit AI reasoning, and provide expert feedback on boundary conditions and conservation laws, with flexible hours (10–40 weekly).

Qualifications

Hold a PhD in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or closely related field.
Master core physics pillars: Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, Quantum Mechanics.
Ability to explain complex phenomena and derivations clearly in English.
Attention to units, notation, dimensional analysis and logical proof flow.

Responsibilities

Design Advanced Problems — craft challenging, open-ended physics problems at PhD level across QM, electromagnetism, thermodynamics.
Author Ground-Truth Solutions — develop precise, step-by-step golden responses with correct constants and conversions.
Audit AI Reasoning — evaluate AI simulations and derivations for physical consistency and first-principles validity.
Refine Model Behaviour — provide expert feedback on boundary conditions and conservation laws to improve AI reasoning.
