Eliassen Group is seeking an API Platform Engineer to modernize and migrate APIs from MuleSoft to Broadcom Layer7. The contractor will design, secure, and optimize APIs using Java/Spring Boot microservices in a remote, W2 setup with comprehensive benefits.

The role collaborates with architecture, security, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment to deliver secure, reliable APIs. Open to candidates willing to work on a W2 basis with medical, dental, vision, and 401k benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Broadcom Layer7 API Gateway experience.
• 5+ years of Java development with Spring Boot and RESTful API experience.
• Relational database and SQL experience.
• Security implementations: OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and mTLS.
• CI/CD tooling experience: Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and support enterprise APIs using Layer7 API Gateway.
• Implement API security policies including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, and mTLS, plus rate limiting and threat protection.
• Configure and maintain Layer7 policies, routing, transformations, mediation, and traffic management.
• Develop and enhance RESTful APIs and Java/Spring Boot microservices.
• Participate in migration of APIs and services from MuleSoft to Layer7.
• Integrate microservices with internal/external REST/SOAP APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, security, and DevOps teams.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Troubleshoot performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture artifacts.
• Participate in API governance and platform standardization initiatives.
