Job summary

Speechify is seeking a Tech Lead for Android Core Product to lead major features on the Android app in a distributed, office-less environment. You will own delivering high quality features with the design team and shape the future of the Android team.

You will drive reliability metrics, collaborate across Product, Design and Engineering, review PRs, and manage releases with nightly builds for QA. A strong Kotlin background and MVVM/Clean Architecture focus are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience required.
• Familiarity with Android components and architecture.
• Experience building or contributing to at least one Android app.
• Product design intuition and user empathy.
• Drive to push the boundaries of Android UI/UX.
• Understanding of testing and how to write tests.
• Self-drive to improve the app and codebase beyond the spec.
• Rock solid experience with Kotlin, Kotlin Coroutines, Kotlin Flow, Dagger 2, MVVM, Clean Architecture, Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, Jetpack Navigation, JUnit tests.
