Job summary

Merci Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer focused on AI Training to support a remote contract engagement with a enterprise client. You will help build data pipelines, design annotation workflows, and collaborate with AI researchers to improve model performance at scale.

You will contribute to tooling for data collection and labeling, implement quality controls, and help maintain internal platforms and APIs for RLHF workflows in a distributed team environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software engineering experience in AI/ML or data engineering environments.
• Proficiency in Python and at least one of Go, Java, or TypeScript.
• Experience building data pipelines with Airflow, Spark, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with ML concepts, model training workflows, and evaluation methods.
• Experience with large datasets, labeling workflows, or annotation platforms.
• Strong REST API, microservices, and cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that support AI model training and evaluation workflows.
• Develop tooling and automation to streamline data collection, labeling, and preprocessing processes.
• Collaborate with ML researchers to translate model requirements into engineering solutions.
• Implement quality control to ensure training data accuracy and integrity.
• Build and maintain internal platforms and APIs for annotation and RLHF workflows.
• Monitor pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability in production.
• Contribute to documentation, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
