Job summary

Jobgether on behalf of a partner company seeks a Staff AI Process Engineer in the United States to transform complex workflows into scalable, AI-enabled systems using LLMs, AI agents, and automation. You will own discovery through deployment, building reliable agent workflows with evaluation, thresholds, and human oversight.

You will collaborate with domain experts to turn tacit knowledge into transparent, auditable systems in a technically sophisticated, innovation-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • At least 5 years in software or AI engineering, including 2+ years building LLM-based or AI agent-based systems.
  • Experience designing and deploying multi-step, tool-using AI agent workflows with evaluation and orchestration.
  • Proven ability to extract tacit knowledge from subject-matter experts via process mining or knowledge engineering.
  • Strong ability to model complex processes end-to-end before choosing technical solutions.
  • Track record of modernization of legacy systems with minimal disruption.
  • Judgment on when AI/LLM pipelines or conventional software engineering are appropriate.
  • Experience in regulated or safety-critical domains is valued.
  • Strong communication and influence skills for collaborating with experts.
  • Problem-solving with decomposition and human-in-the-loop considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Process discovery and knowledge extraction with domain experts to document tacit knowledge and identify decision points.
  • Model informal expert-driven processes into formal, structured representations for analysis and automation.
  • Transform legacy tooling into AI-native or modernized solutions without disrupting operations.
  • Design and implement multi-step AI agent workflows with proper tool use and context management.
  • Establish methods to compare AI outcomes against expert baselines with escalation thresholds.
  • Define human-in-the-loop requirements, escalation thresholds, and audit trails.
  • Evolve domain experts from executors to reviewers while preserving knowledge.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery from discovery to production deployment with scalable, auditable solutions.
